This Blogger Proved C-Sections Are NOT the Easy Way Out With 1 Viral Photo

This Blogger Proved C-Sections Are NOT the Easy Way Out With 1 Viral Photo Is there a wrongor right way to bring another life into the world? People somehow still seem to thinkso. Women who give birth to their babies via cesarean section are sometimes chastised for not giving birth vaginally, often viewed as the natural way.Andsome outspokencritics have publically declaredc-sections not actual birth. But despite the attempts to shame them, women who have had c-sections are speaking up.Lifestyle blogger, PANDA ambassador, and Mummy Time co-hostOlivia White had no problem dismissingthe fallacy that having a c-section is taking the easy way out. The Australian mother of two took to Instagramafter the birth of her second child to deutsche post dhl this close-up photo of her belly.Source InstagramWhite displayedthe 6 inch gash in her abdomen that lookedlike a gutted shark who had the body parts of the surfer it ate retrieved in the selfie, which she initially took to view the scar hersel f. You know, since she couldnt see past her still inflamed uterus. And in case showing the scar wasnt enough to prove c-sections are no joke, White went further to describe the (pretty painful) experience. She said the sensation she experienced after the anesthesia wore off wasnt much more enjoyable than the feels like your vital organs are trying to escape. And the feeling she endured while being sewn back up? White wroteIts like youve been hit by a bus which then backed over you just to make koranvers it didnt miss you the first time.In the hundreds of comments that Whites post garnered, many women thanked her and offeredup tales of their own c-sections. Several recalled thefeelings of guilt they experienced after receiving negative comments after their deliveries. In 2017,about 32% of babies in the United States were born by C-section. C-sections are often required when delivering a baby vaginally would risk the life of either the mother or the baby. If these statistics, andWhites photo and graphic description, arent enough to adjust the attitudes of naysayers, then its difficult to imagine anything that would. In spite of all the pain associated with the grueling experience, White could definitively sayit was worth it.But for all the skin tight Kookai dresses I bought while pregnant that now make me look like I have a kangaroo pouch I wouldnt change it, she said. Because if it wasnt for the ability to deliver my babies this way, they might not be here.--Kayla Heisler is an essayist and Pushcart Prize-nominated poet. Why Millennials Like Video Interviews (And You Should Too) - Spark HireIts no secret that Millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) are people who love their social media websites and technology. Video bewerbungsgesprchs, being technical in nature, deliver incredible benefits that appeal to job-seeking Millennials. Using just a webcam, Millennials can connect face-to-face with employers in real-time to discuss job opportunities. No travel required These in richtung Y job candidates can also participate in one-way video interviews where they record video answers to an employers interview questions completely on their own time. They can do this using either a webcam or their favorite mobile device.Video interviewing is the perfect tool for connecting with Millennials because it fulfills their need and want for real-time interaction in the interview process that requires less time than traditional methods. Video interviewing gives Millennials flexibility and convenience to go about their daily routines while also pursuing a job opportunity. Pre-recorded video interviews such as the one-way can be done when a Millennial has free time and their personal and current work schedule wont be disrupted. Furthermore, video interviews appeal to Millennials because they give them an opportunity to show their true character and engage with employers on a more personal level. Its also important to acknowledge that Millennials will soon dominate the workplace. Another study done by the BPW Foundation found that Millennials will make up roughly75 percent of the worlds workforce by 2025. How to Find Meaning In Any Job

How to Find Meaning In Any JobHow to Find Meaning In Any Job According to the latest research, more than 50 percent of Millennials would give up part of their salary to work for a cause near and dear to their heart, and the majority (90 percent) want to use their skills for good. Unfortunately, job opportunities (and salaries) at non-profits make it difficult for everyone who wants to work for a cause to do so. But does that mean youre resigned to meaningless work forever? Nope As it turns out, any job can be turned into a meaningful work with the right attitude it just requires a shift in perspective. Whether you work in a service industry or a for-profit industry, if youre paid for your work, there is an end user who is receiving help from you. You simply need to think it through and focus on the person youre helping. For example, for a few years, I worked in web content writing and editing as a government contractor. As much as I loved my red pen, there were some days that were a little spreadsheet heavy, and Id find myself watching the clock for 5 PM. But one day, I realized the work I was doing wasnt just for a paycheck. At the end of the day, the content we were making and uploading to the government site truly made a difference in the lives of military families . What I was doing felt far removed from the reality of raising a family and running a household with a deployed spouse, but the result of my work was a direct hand up to people in that position. What a game changerWhile my job was somewhat service oriented, the principle works for almost any industry. If you work in IT security in banking , youre protecting entire populations of businesses and families from the stress, confusion, and long-term consequences of identity theft. If you work in retail, youre helping people find and purchase the things they need to manage their lives, from food and clothes to computer products and entertainment. What an impact As Marian Wrigh t Edelman says, Never work just for money or for power. They wont save your soul or help you sleep at night. If you find yourself driven to have a positive impact on the world, dont jump right to the conclusion that you need a new job. No matter what kind of job you have, its entirely within your power to make your work meaningful work right where you are.

U.S. Military Enlistment Process and Job Selection

U.S. Military Enlistment Process and Job SelectionU.S. Military Enlistment Process and Job SelectionEnlisting into the military should be a calling for young men and women to serve, not just a job to get if you have no other place to go. The military offers exceptional job training, educational benefits, paid vacation, and medical and dental care. Make sure you know what you want to do before you talk to a recruiter and drive the conversation and actions of the recruiter to what you want to do - as long as you qualify for it. Once the recruiter has determined your qualifications for enlistment (or got permission from his/her superiors to process you, in the event a waiver is required), youll start the enlistment process. Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) The first hurdle you must verstndigung im strafverfahren with is determining if you are medically qualified to join the military. The ball first gets rolling by the recruiter sending your forms and paperwork to MEPS (Mil itary Entrance Processing Station), where the real processing is done. The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) While this test is usually accomplished at MEPS, it can also be done in high school. The ASVAB is used to determine what jobs you are academically eligible for. It is smart for you to take a month and do a few online practice ASVAB tests or get a book with practice tests and tips to score better. The reason you need to score well on the ASVAB as it may determine whether or not you get your number one choice of jobs after boot camp / basic training. There are three ways to take the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude BatteryASVAB to qualify for military service (and military job qualification). It can be taken in high school, ora paper version at MEPS, or in a computerized version at MEPS. The third option is the way most recruits take the ASVAB. The visit to MEPS is two-phased Part of the process does not belong to any individual service. Its a joint-service op eration, that attempts to determine whether or not you are qualified for the military. This includes a medical examination and the testing (ASVAB, DLAB, etc.) portions of MEPS. Job Qualifications To get the job of your choice in the armed forces is not guaranteed. There has to be an available vacancy, and you have to be qualified.Job qualification is based on several factors. fruchtwein significant are your ASVAB line scores. The services have assignedminimum ASVABline scoresto each enlisted job. In addition to ASVAB line scores, many jobsrequire the applicant to qualify for asecurity clearance. If the applicant has anything in their background that may prevent approval of clearance, the MEPS job counselors are unlikely to allow the applicant to reserve that job. Some jobs require additional testing. For example, any job that requires one to learn a foreign language requires a passing score on theDefense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB). Different jobs have different physical req uirements. When one goes through their medical examination at MEPS, one is assigned aPhysical Profile, which is a series of numbers that indicates the members medical condition in designated medical areas. In buchen to reserve a job, one must meet the minimum physical profile required for that job. Your recruiter should remind you and test you often if you are seeking some of the tougher programs in the military like Army Ranger / Special Forces, Navy SEAL / EOD / SWCC, Marine RECON, or Air Force PJ. However, if you seek Army or USMC Infantry, you need to prepare yourself for the challenges of after boot camp as well.Getting in shape prior to MEPS is critical for some of the Special Ops / Combat jobs. Each of the services has different policies/procedures when it comes to guaranteed jobs - often if you fail any of these tests prior to basic, you will lose your guaranteed slot. Jobs in the Army In the Army, anenlisted jobis called a MOS, or military occupational specialty. The Arm y is the only service that offers a guaranteed job (MOS) to everyone, even though it might not be the exact one you want. It depends upon your qualifications and what jobs have current or projected openings. If the job you want is not available, your only choices are to choose a different job, or not enlist if there is nothing else you prefer to do in the Army. Jobs in the Air Force The Air Force calls itsenlisted jobsAir Force specialty codes (AFSC) The Air Force has two enlistment options Guaranteed Job, and Guaranteed Aptitude Area. Under the guaranteed job program, the applicant is guaranteed training in a specific Air Force job. Under the guaranteed aptitudeprogram, the applicant is guaranteed that he will be selected for a job that falls into one of the designated aptitude areas. The Air Force has divided all of their jobs intofour aptitude areas general, electronic, mechanical, and administrative. Because the Air Force has many more applicants than they have slots, it is very common for an applicant to process through MEPS, and return enlisted in the delayed enlistment program without a reserved job-slot or shipping date. Instead, while at MEPS, they provide a list of job and aptitude area preferences to the job counselor, then they are placed on the qualified waiting list, for one of their preferences to become available. This can take several months. Its not uncommon, these days, for an Air Force applicant to remain in the DEP for 8 or more months before finally shipping out to basic training. In order to join the Air Force, one must be flexible with both job selections and dates of availability. For those with lots of flexibility, the Air Force has a program called the quick ship list. Every once in a while, an applicant with a reserved slot will drop out of the DEP at the last minute. The Air Force will allow applicants in the DEP to voluntarily put their name on the quick ship list to take the place of the applicant who dropped out. Be ready to go while in DEP as you can get the call to leave in less than a week in some cases. You do not have to go as they will offer the early slot to someone else, but getting another opportunity is hit or miss with some job specialties. Jobs in the Navy The Navy calls theirenlisted jobsratings. The Navy offers two programs guaranteed job, and undesignated seaman. The Navy also has some special enlistment programs whereby you can enlist knowing what area you are going into, but not your specific rating (job). Jobs in the Marines Like the Army, anenlisted jobin theMarine studentencorpsiscalled a MOS.The Marines also offertwo programs Guaranteed job, and general field. Very few Marine applicants get a guaranteed jobmostly those with college degrees or high ASVAB scores, applying for certain, designated technical specialties. Jobs in the Coast Guard Like the Navy, enlisted jobsin the Coast Guard are referred to as ratings. Of all of the services, the Coast Guard offers the fewest guaranteed jobs. One normally enlists in theCoast Guard, undesignated, then strikes for a job after a period of on-the-job training in basic coast-guardsman-ship at their first duty station. A few schools (and therefore jobs) are offered during basic training. As well as offering the fewest guaranteed jobs, the Coast Guard has the fewest overall jobs (about 23) of any of the services. On the plus side, for the most part, all of the Coast Guard jobs directly relate to a civilian occupation. Jobs in the Reserves and National Guard TheArmy National GuardandAir National Guard, as well as the reserve forces of all the branches, give guaranteed jobsto everyone who enlists. This is because unlike the active-duty forces, who recruit for available slots all over the world, the Guard and Reserves recruit for specific unit vacancies in their local areas. Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) Once the job counselors have helped you determine yourjob/enlistment program youll sign an enlistmen t contract and take an oath, enlisting you in the delayed enlistment program (DEP).The DEP is a holding status while you are waiting for your scheduled shipping date to basic training.

Ashley Furniture Home Stores

Ashley Furniture Home StoresAshley Furniture Home StoresAshley Furniture Home StoresOur goal is loftier than just making money. Jeffrey Zaffron is Managing Director of a licensing company that operates Ashley Furniture Home Stores in Western Texas and Eastern New Mexico. He employs mora than 100 people who work in more than 175,000 feet of space in four stores. That area is larger than three football fields plenty of room to show off sofas and lamps. When you talk to Jeff, however, you get a sense that the key to his business is closeness to his parent corporation and to his customers. Keeping a focus on two relationships is vital to his success. On a large scale, the relationship between giant Ashley Furniture Industries, North Americas largest selling furniture manufacturer, and its licensees is closer than a typical supplier/retailer exchange. Ashley can use its size, design teams, manufacturing and long-haul trucking capabilities to lower costs for its store opera tors, so they can offer greater value at lower prices. Thats a prodigious advantage, but when it comes to hiring, another relationship matters more. On a small scale, Jeff Zaffron knows he must hire people who can build relationships over the long term with customers, especially in his competitive retail niche. Jeff explainsWere in smaller cities Lubbock is the largest at 250,000 people so finding people is always challenging. We look for the best and brightest people they dont have to be from a furniture background. Selling and marketing are inherently about forming a relationship. If you have the ability to connect with a person, you can potentially be good in sales. There are other furniture stores, car dealers, and many other venues where people with transferable skills like sales can find work, so its competitive. Our difference is that we want people who understand that our purpose is to help people. Our goal is loftier than just making money.Help people? A furnit ure store? We live where we work, continues Jeff. West Texas and Eastern New Mexico have tight-knit communities, and we pride ourselves on tafelgeschirr before, during and after the sale. Sales consultants greet customers at the door, offer bottled water if its hot outside, and answer questions with high product knowledge If a customer has a question about the mechanism on a reclining sofa, sales consultants can answer without referring to a book in the back room.We also believe wholeheartedly that we need to be good corporate citizens we need to be a good part of the community, rather than a big, impersonal furniture store. We have our own events here like rock walls for the kids on certain days, or philanthropic activities. Its about making Lubbock or Amarillo or Hobbes a better place. Whats a Porter? Where in West Texas will you hire a porter? Where will you find a visual merchandiser? For that matter, what do they do? They set the scene, and everything follows from that. Walk into an Ashley HomeStore and you wont find a sea of sofas. Instead, the stores contain many small, fully furnished rooms called vignettes. In the vignettes, the sofa, love seat, cocktail table, lamps, end tables, rugs, artworkeverything is carefully designed by a visual merchandiser who decorates and re-decorates under the watchful eye of Jeffs director of visual design (a job that merges marketing and interior design). Porters are the people who arrange and maintain these rooms. The effect is to inspire customers to have them walk into a vignette and say, Oh yes Thats what Im looking for Hire for GrowthRelationship-building is a transferable skill, which means Jeff faces competition for talent outside his industry (from car dealers and other retailers). He attracts the best candidates with potential growth opportunities. For example, he says, We opened a new store in Hobbs New Mexico, which is experiencing explosive growth. Advertising on brought us dozens of candidates for individual positions who also had mischform verschiedener musikstile potential. We were able to take someone who applied for a sales managers job in Hobbs NM and match them up with a store manger, sales manager, or operations manager job in another store as well. Im looking for people who can grow within our organization, and that becomes a long term relationship too.Hiring Tip from Jeff Zaffron Think of reading resumes and interviewing as an intelligence-gathering activity. Take your time until you find a person who really understands what the goal is. A marketing person has to swing the door and a sales person has to close the sale, but when youre operating in a close, tight-knit community like us, you actually need people who want to do right by themselves, their families and their neighbors.

How Your Network Can Help You Be Better at Your Job

How Your Network Can Help You Be Better at Your JobHow Your Network Can Help You Be Better at Your JobStaying in touch with your network isnt easy- from finding reasons to drop people a line to finding the time to actually do it, its no wonder many of us put it off until its essential (i.e., when were job hunting). But really, if you only reach out to people during times of career transition, youre wasting a valuable resource for your professional development. Read on for five easy ways your contacts can help you excel at your current gig- and how to reach out the right way.You Need A RoadmapYou Know Someone Whos Been ThereMy former boss gave an amazing speech on the occasion of leaving our organization, lightened by humorous references to the number of times she Googled how to do something. And while I could (and often do) make use of that option, I also have a better one her. Shes written budgets and strategic plans and gone toe-to-toe with difficult clients. Meaning, when Im starin g down a new or confusing situation, I know she can advise me from a place of experience. Even though shes no longer my boss, shes parte of my network- and shes been willing to help me on numerous occasions.Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind when approaching a contact for advice. First, be armed with a specific pitch that concisely lays out what you need and how much time it will take Would you have an hour in the next week to answer a few questions about writing a budget? versus Can you help me with some budget stuff?Second, do your prep work before the meeting and try to get as far as you can on your own- the last thing you want is to squander the time with FAQs. Third, this cant be an every week (or even an every month) thing. Unless this contact is your mentor, you should reach out once a quarter, max. Need mora help than that? Reach out to anotlageher contact. You Need Expertise (in a Hurry)You Know Someone in a Different FieldYou have a contract that needs lookin g over, and your friend is a lawyer. Or, you need to brush up on your language skills before an upcoming business trip, and your old colleague moonlights as a language tutor. When you need specialized expertise in a pinch, thats a perfect reason to reach out to the people in your network. In some ways, thats exactly what theyre there for. That said, be careful when youre asking someone in your network for a favor- especially if its to help you more quickly or more cheaply than someone youd hire. The key here is to remember that networking is a two-way street. One great option is bartering- i.e., in exchange for the language tutor giving you a crash course before your trip, you offer to revamp his homepage. Another option is asking to be pointed in the right direction If your friend the lawyer cant help you with the contract because itll require sizable revisions, she should still be able to recommend someone who can help you or give you a sense of what hiring a professional may cost. Either way, youll have more information than you began with. You Need Help With an EventYou Know Someone Whos Done it BeforeEvent planning requires a lot of legwork, not the least of which- from sourcing venues to finding quality vendors- is logistical. Imagine how much time you could save speaking with someone who already knew that this venue has a ton of parking and that venue has issue with its air conditioning that this bakery is excellent and that caterer is not.So, if youre tasked with throwing a conference, event, or even a meeting, reach out both formally and informally to your networks. Tell your friend who coordinates events for her job and your friend the recent bride alike that other projects as assigned translates to gala-planning, and youd love their advice. And dont be afraid to post a facebook inc or LinkedIn status asking your contacts if they know any great, local venues (or caterers, or photographers). Youll save tons of time on your search and be moving forward w ith tried and trusted locations and vendors. You Need Honest FeedbackYou Know Someone Who You Trust A young woman I recruited a few years ago recently asked me to beta test me her new site. She was clear in her expectations- she needed honest (brutal, where necessary) feedback before the site was launched- and she knew that friends and family (the people you can hook to beta test because, well, they love you) can be shy when it comes to criticism.I was particularly enthusiastic about helping because of the way she reached out to me. She wrote me a thoughtful email, briefly filling me in on what brought her to the project and clearly expressing what she was trying to do with the site. Moreover, once I agreed to be a beta tester, she responded to every email I sent promptly, thoroughly, and with gratitude. The way she conducted herself through this process not only convinced me to spend hours scouring the site, but also left me with an even higher opinion of her professionalism. By rea ching out, she not only got the help she needed- she deepened her relationship with a contact. You Need Nothing- Right NowYou Know Two People You Can ConnectHave a friend whos looking to start freelancing- and an old colleague who successfully made the switch years ago? A co-worker who needs to hire a temp and a college buddy whos a recruiter? Introducing them is more than just good karma- its good for your career. Yes, networking is all about making connections that will be valuable for you, but sometimes whats most impressive is someone who helps and connects others when theres nothing in it for him or her. And need I mention the fact that when you need an introduction down the road, the people you connected will likely be inclined to return the favor? In these cases, just make koranvers to do a double-opt-in intro, asking each party for his or her permission to make the introduction before you actually do. A simple, Hey, I know youre looking for an extra set of hands- want me to ma ke an intro to my friend the recruiter? works perfectly.Reaching out to your networking is a necessity when youre looking for a job. But even when youre not- dont forget all your connections can do to help you do your job better.
